"Garrick Davis & A House Full of Friends," a special live music event Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Club Fox in downtown Redwood City, located at 2209 Broadway Street. Doors open at 7pm and music begins at 8pm. Club Fox is 21 & over only. Tickets are ONLY AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR.

“Garrick Davis & A House Full of Friends” features Davis, a guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer performing original music in a once-in-a-lifetime concert backed by a diverse, revolving roster of “A-List” sidemen and artists including Leah Tysse, Jeff Chambers, Tony Stead, Tom Poole, AJ Joyce, Grant “Slam” Walthall, D. Edward, Cello Joe, Daniel Berkman, Kevin Wong, Nehal Abuelata(Sweet HayaH) and Tanmay Bichu. The show will be documented for an album and video(2017 release) and supports Samaritan House, a local charity.

The seeds of this concert project were sown when Davis was asked if he had any interest in putting a show together with the musicians that performed at the memorable album release party for his 2001 debut “Glass Half Full”. A broader performance format caught sail when Davis envisioned an opportunity to share the stage with players he has wanted to work with again, and some for the first time. The audience will witness various ensembles performing both electric and acoustic-based “mini-sets” to authenticate the broad spectrum of genres (Blues, Rock, Funk, Soul, Gospel, World and Jazz) Davis draws from in his productions of recorded and live work. Garrick’s mother, and Civil Rights activist Marie Davis(87), will recite an original poem backed by an acoustic ensemble in a special moment inside of what is sure to be a memorable evening.

Musicians and audience members alike will experience camaraderie on this night of collaboration, celebration and reflection at the intimate, cabaret-style setting of Club Fox, the venue Davis has called his “home stage” since 2004 and where in 2005 he recorded his first live album, the acclaimed CD/DVD set “The Show”. The concept of time passing, a salute to peers and friends combined with a desire to make a difference in his community makes this a “can’t/don’t miss” Red Letter Day event where attendees will dance, sway, move, and be moved.

A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to Samaritan House, whose dedicated professional staff and volunteers work to provide food, access to shelter, healthcare, and a broad range of supportive services, including a free clinic in Redwood City. The non-profit organization is headquartered in San Mateo. Representatives from Samaritan House will be present at the concert for further information and on-site donations.

Non-Attendees - Special Merchandise and CD pre-orders will be available after October 25 for those who would like to support this project but are unable to attend on this date.
